ADHD Works’ Matching Directory: FAQs
-
A list of practitioners who have trained with ADHD Works. Each profile shows which of our programmes they've completed — ADHD Coaching, Advanced AuDHD Coaching, Neuroaffirmative Supervision — and how they work. They are independent practitioners who run their own businesses and set their own rates, availability and terms.
-
ADHD Works started as a coaching practice, and the frameworks we teach have been developed from that work - built, tested and rewritten through years of sessions with real clients.
These frameworks act as optional 'menus' for support, because we don't assume that clients should come already knowing what to work on - and structure can help a lot!
Over the years we've contracted many of the coaches we've trained to work 'in house' at ADHD Works - so we know first-hand that our training genuinely works in practice.
But ultimately, we still have far more demand for coaching than we can ever sustainably take on ourselves - and have trained more people than we can realistically manage to work with them (a very different skillset!).
And so, this Directory combines the features of our 1:1 coaching model at ADHD Works - trusted practitioners trained in our frameworks, filtered and matched to a client based on their specific needs - with the maximum spectrum of choice and accessibility for everybody.
-
No. This offering has been phased out so that we can focus on helping as many people as possible to find the support that works for them through this Directory.
-
No. The Directory shows you who has trained with us. It isn't an endorsement, an accreditation, or a guarantee of anyone's services, and there's no ranking of who is "best."
You decide who feels right for you.
-
No. Listing is currently free for everyone who has trained with us. We don't charge for placement, we don't take commission on any work that follows, and there are no paid or featured positions in the results.

Each ADHD Works programme teaches a specific framework, created and updated through ongoing practice with neurodivergent clients:
ADHD Coaching — the Executive Functioning Coaching Framework™
Coaching exercises, tools and psychoeducation as an "optional menu" for ADHD coaching, focused on the executive function differences associated with ADHD. Areas include memory, self-awareness and emotional regulation.
Advanced AuDHD Coaching — the AuDHD Paradox Coaching Framework™
An optional menu for coaching people who are autistic and ADHD, working with the paradoxes that arise from a "tug-of-war" brain. Areas include relationships, executive functioning and communication.
Neuroaffirmative Supervision — the "Explain, Not Excuse" Framework™
Approaches, models and exercises for neuroaffirmative supervision practice, adaptable to the industry a practitioner works in, using our 4 Neuroaffirmative Supervision Lenses™ model.
A profile shows which programmes someone has trained in. We'd encourage you to discuss this with them directly, because we actively encourage our students to make these frameworks their own.
-
Everyone who trains with ADHD Works is taught to work within our Ethical Compliance Framework, which covers confidentiality, boundaries, scope of practice, and knowing when to refer someone elsewhere.
ADHD Works' professional competencies are also mapped against the ICF Core Competencies and the Global Code of Ethics for Coaches, Mentors and Supervisors, so practitioners trained with us are trained in and working under recognised international standards, alongside our own specialised neuroaffirmative framework.
-
Profiles are written and maintained by practitioners themselves. The ADHD Works programmes are checked against our training records. Everything else - insurance, supervision arrangements, other qualifications, areas of experience - is self-declared, and we don't verify it.
To do so would require resources that we do not have - and we trust the people that we have trained to present themselves accurately and to welcome questions. Similarly, we also trust individuals to talk to the people listed here about the aspects of their profile and/or backgrounds that matter to them, and to make their own decision.
-
No. Coaching isn't therapy and it isn't medical treatment. As coaches, practitioners here don't diagnose ADHD or give advice on medication. If you're looking for an assessment, a diagnosis or clinical support, speak to a GP or a qualified clinician.
Some practitioners are also qualified in other fields — as therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors, or clinicians — and their profiles will say so. Those are separate qualifications that sit outside their ADHD Works training, so discuss any clinical work with them directly.
-
Yes. Access to Work is a UK government scheme that can fund ADHD or AuDHD coaching. Even if your award recommends a different provider, you are normally free to select a coach of your choice to work with instead.
However, there may be requirements about where this coach is based, and the approaches may differ in terms of how fees are repaid. Some coaches will be able to invoice your employer, who can then claim this money back from Access to Work, for example. This will ultimately depend on your circumstances, and those of the coach you choose to work with.
The national funding programmes for coaching that a practitioner works with are listed on their profiles. You are welcome to ask them more about this when you get in touch, and they should be happy to explain more about their approach and experience of the relevant schemes.
Please note that such schemes can change quickly, and we have answered this to the best of our ability with the information we have - but we do not make any guarantees. Always check the most up to date guidance.
-
Browse the listings and use the filters to narrow things down by what matters to you - availability, location, session format, age groups and areas of support.
We are also building a guided matching tool for people who don't know what to look for, or who find choosing between lots of profiles overwhelming. It asks a few simple questions and narrows the Directory from your answers. It isn't live yet, as we need enough completed profiles first so it has a useful range of people to work with.
Either way, the Directory narrows the options - you decide who to contact.
-
That's between you and them. Practitioners handle their own enquiries, terms, bookings and payments. ADHD Works isn't part of the coaching relationship and takes no commission.
-
They may not have an active listing, or may not be taking new clients. Practitioners opt in and manage their own profiles, so not everyone who has trained with us appears here.
-
If you have been harmed or feel unsafe, please contact your local police or support services.
If you have a concern about conduct or safeguarding in relation to a practitioner listed on this directory, please email us at hello@adhdworks.info. We'll look into what you've told us, raise it with the practitioner where appropriate, and suspend or remove a listing where we have concerns.
We cannot resolve disputes about fees, refunds or contracts, as everyone listed is independent, and this is between you and them. You may also wish to contact any professional body they belong to, or take independent legal advice.
We aren't a regulatory body and can't determine professional misconduct. What we can decide is whether we continue to publish someone's listing, and in serious cases withdraw recognition or certification of their ADHD Works training.

Yes. Most practitioners work online, so you can work with someone anywhere. Insurance, funding options, and local requirements vary by country, so it's worth checking with the individual directly that they can work with clients where you are. Profiles show where they are based, which time zones they work across, and whether they offer in-person sessions.
Some of the people we have trained as coaches and supervisors are also qualified in other fields - as therapists, psychologists, doctors or other clinicians - and their profiles will say so. Where that's the case, those are separate qualifications, and any clinical work sits outside their ADHD Works training and the frameworks described here. If you would like to work with someone clinically as well as through coaching, please discuss that with them directly.
-
Coaching and coaching supervision are not regulated professions in most countries, and requirements vary. Everyone listed here is independent and responsible for their own insurance, registration and any local requirements. We encourage you to ask the practitioner about anything that feels relevant to you.
-
Practitioners set their own rates, which vary by country and experience. Prices are shown on profiles where people have chosen to include them.
Practitioners may also offer discounted or sliding scale rates, and/or scholarships, as detailed on their profile.

No. The Matching Directory is only for people who have trained with us - it's how we keep the listings consistent and verifiable. We aren't able to list practitioners who have not trained with ADHD Works.
